- Nostalgia for time travelling together, trips around Europe – no plan other than a rough direction and a deadline at either end.
- Or perhaps because we skimmed the surface in Bali, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong and wanted to do more, delve deeper, go further, experience what the world has to offer.
- Maybe also the desire to open ourselves to other cultures, to stretch our comfort zones, challenge our norms.
- Combine that with the fact that we’re not getting any younger.
- And we never had a ‘gap’ year.
- And finally …….
why not?…………..
Whatever the reason – and in reality it’s all of these, it’s fast becoming reality.
Commitment – bought the guidebooks, booked the tickets to and from the start and finish. Even a bit of planning done for the first couple of legs of the journey. And now?…..
Now to fill the rucksacks with the scattering of items on the spare bed. The master list, and several sub-lists, have been created and are evolving; with a few things getting ticked off those lists!
Slow progress. But getting there……..
